Instructions for use

How to insert your tampon

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
  2. If applicable, remove any tampon already inserted. Yes, in the rush of everyday life, women sometimes forget this.
  3. Dispose of the tampon in the household waste and please not in the toilet.
  4. Remove the protective wrapper of the new tampon. Please do not throw it in the toilet, but in the household waste.
  5. Now pull on the withdrawal string and hold it firmly.
  6. Place your index finger on the flat end of the tampon.
  7. Now push the tampon diagonally backwards and upwards into your vagina.
  8. As soon as you no longer feel the tampon, it is in the correct position. If you still feel it, for example when moving, push it a little deeper.
  9. Can you still see the withdrawal string? Perfect!
  10. Wash your hands thoroughly and dispose of the used tampon and the protective wrapper correctly.

How to remove your tampon

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly.
  2. Pull the withdrawal string and please dispose of the tampon in the household waste and not in the toilet.
  3. If you feel resistance when removing the tampon, it is probably not full enough yet. Next time, use a tampon with a lower absorbency.
  4. Sometimes you can't find the withdrawal string immediately. Just stay calm. Squat down, press on the tampon, grasp it with two fingers and gently pull it out.
  5. If you cannot remove the tampon yourself, please go to a gynaecologist immediately. Also read the information on toxic shock syndrome (TSS).

How often you should change your tampon
When your flow is heaviest, it's best to change your tampon every 3-4 hours. Always use only one tampon. Choose the smallest possible size.

You can safely use MinaDays tampons with CBD oil several times in a row throughout your period. When your period subsides or at night, the tampon can stay in longer. But please not longer than 6-8 hours. Also read the information on toxic shock syndrome (TSS).

Product safety

Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS)

Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) is rare but a serious and sometimes life-threatening condition. It can affect women, men and children. The disease is caused by toxins from certain bacteria that naturally occur on our skin and in our environment.

During menstruation, special caution is advised: About half of all TSS cases occur in women and girls during menstruation. Although the syndrome is often associated with the use of tampons, it can also occur without them during menstruation.

Look out for symptoms of TSS, which can appear suddenly during or shortly after your period. These include sudden high fever (39 °C or more), rash, vomiting, diarrhoea, sore throat, dizziness or fainting spells. If you notice these symptoms, remove the tampon immediately and seek medical help without delay. Inform the doctor about the symptoms and mention that you are on your period.

Further precautions, such as using tampons with the lowest required absorbency and changing them regularly every 4-8 hours, can reduce the risk of TSS. We want to guide you safely and informed through your menstrual cycles. For more information and support, please contact your healthcare provider. CBD has no potential for abuse and is not physically addictive.

The myth of the hymen, the so-called maidenhead

The so-called "hymen" is in reality a soft ring of skin at the entrance to the vagina. It is not a closed membrane, as was once believed. This ring of skin is already naturally open, so the use of tampons has no influence on its nature. You can therefore safely use tampons, as they will not damage the ring of skin when used correctly.

CBD oil and vaginal flora

Tested cannabidiol oil in CBD tampons has not caused any irritation or change in the vaginal flora in many studies and surveys.
